Biography
Mr. Boodrookas practices in the areas of labor and employment, litigation, and representation of nonprofits and independent schools. He represents a variety of businesses, organizations and individuals both in compliance counseling and in defense and prosecution of claims before all levels of state and federal agencies and courts. Mr. Boodrookas has extensive experience representing employers in all aspects of traditional labor law, including union organizing and elections, collective bargaining, worker grievances, and unfair labor practice proceedings. He has also represented numerous nonprofit organizations and independent schools in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Prior to receiving his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1983, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from the University of California, Davis, with a BA degree and departmental citations in economics and political science.
Mr. Boodrookas is a member of the State Bar of California and Bar Association of San Francisco labor and employment law sections. He has served as a lecturer for CEB and numerous employer, nonprofit, independent school, and university groups. Mr. Boodrookas has been selected by his peers for recognition as a Northern California and Business Edition “Super Lawyer.”
Included among his principal cases is Laborers Health & Welfare Fund v. Westlake Development, 53 F.3d 979 (9th Cir. 1995), which he successfully argued before the 9th Circuit.
Mr. Boodrookas has served on, chaired, and provided pro bono assistance to a number of nonprofit and independent school boards and committees.
